Happy December

Hi there everyone! I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving. I have been down for a while with Laryngitis so I must say it has been pretty quiet here lately lol. But I bet my wife is enjoying that. But that means no preaching for me tonight or anything. I must admit it will be nice having a week off but this is not the way I wanted to go about it. I am just feeling blah and we have a possible inspection coming up for our apartment tomorrow so I am just losing my mind.

Thanksgiving was good here. It was before I got this stuff and so it went good. I was sure tired at the end of the day but that’s ok. I think part of it was the turkey but also it was the blowout of the Lions that put me to sleep in no time. All the snow we got a week ago has pretty much melted now between the rain and sleet. It sure is slick outside today and I am glad to be home and cuddled up in some blankets.

I am so excited because by the end of the week, I should have my new car. It is a 1999 Chevy Lumina and is so nice. It is getting some minor repairs done right now but should be ready at the end of the week. We got some help with the downpayment which I am so very thankful for. We have been praying about this for a long time and God has heard and answered our prayers. God blesses His people, even when so many times we do things that do not bless God. He is faithful. Praise God!

Well my wife is wanting me to get off so I can help her fold some laundry. Have a blessed day and week and remember Jesus loves you and so do I.

Snow and the High Speed Chaose

I received this email a few days ago. I must say that this is in Canada but it sure describes how police chases have been in this area after our 2 plus feet of snow. Must say, don’t try this at home nor try to outrun the police in the snow.

Snowstorm

Wow two days in a row. It’s a record. Well I am bored because we are in the middle of a snowstorm. We are supposed to get a foot of snow over the next couple of days so simply stating, I will be hibernating and staying home. I Cancelled my calendar for the rest of the week. I had Lori run outside really quick and take a couple of pictures so you could wish you were here J. Better yet for you southerners, I will trade you weather. We have a thing off of Lake Erie called Lake Effect Snow. I know some of you know what that is. Simply stating, when cold water comes over the lake, it takes moisture from the lake and dumps it on us in the form of snow. Enjoy the photos and have a blessed day.

Life – What an Adventure – Update

I know it’s been forever since I have written something on this blog so please forgive me. Things are going well here. It has been extremely busy but I like busy. I am now pastoring 2 ministries at the Nazarene Church I attend. On Tuesday evenings, I am ministering to 5th and 6th graders and am working on launching a new 30’s ministry after the first of the year. I do not get paid for these jobs but the payment I will receive in heaven someday is greater than anything I could get here. I also have applied for a local pastorate in Warren and am waiting to hear about when I will go for the interview. Please pray that the Lord’s will is done concerning this.

I went to my doctor for my back in Pittsburgh on October 29th. Things are going well. My back is completely fused and I have included the latest x-rays in this entry. I still do have another good year of healing at least to go. With the colder weather here, I get really sore and stiff easily so I still have to take an easy. Concerning my drop foot though, he highly doubts that it will get any better. I am still one who knows with God all things are possible and will trust in His healing. If it doesn’t happen though, let God’s will be done. It is difficult getting around when you have to drag one of your feet with you but hey I will take it any day over that pain I was in prior to my surgery last year.

Lori and the kids are doing well. Matt turned 6 back in October and he is struggling in kindergarten. Please keep him in your prayers as we are having some behavior issues with him at home too. Kelsey is being herself and growing like a weed. She will turn 3 on December 23rd. Lori is doing well and still helps me out at home.

We have put up all of our Christmas stuff because for a minister, things after Thanksgiving just get totally crazy and we wouldn’t have the time. It is beautiful in here and as soon as I get the rest of the cleaning done, I will post some pics on here. I am excited the holiday season is upon us again. We surely have the snow to get us in the mood. We have a nice Lake Effect snowstorm that is going to give us another foot or so on Friday so all I gotta say is pray! Pray we do not get buried in our home til spring. Also, I will be doing a lot of staying in this winter because I am so afraid of falling. Please pray for my protection.

Well I better close for now. Hey everyone check out my new blog for the 5th and 6th grade ministry I pastor. It’s located at http://nazpac.wordpress.com.

Well I’m Out! Blessings

The God That Gives Us Living Hope

The God that Gives Us Living Hope

Dr. John Barnett

Discover the Book

Our Great and Mighty God has His Hand reaching down from Heaven to each of us. He says to us:

I am your Creator (Isaiah 42:5).

God made you just like you are to do what no one else can do. You are my special, precious child. Trust Me, follow Me, worship Me. We need to from our spirits respond to Him as Creator by saying to Him:

I will trust You Lord; and I will follow You Lord; and I will worship You Lord.

I am your Sustainer (Isaiah 42:6).

God wants to hold your hand and keep you. Trust Me enough to grab My Hand, and love Me enough to let Me shine through your life. We need to from our spirits respond to Him as Sustainer by saying to Him:

I want to by faith, from this moment forward, start reaching up each new day I live and hold onto Your Hand to show that I really do trust You; and I want to love You so that others see Your love in me.

I am your Redeemer (Isaiah 42:7).

God bought and paid for with Christ’s blood, a great price. Realize anew that you are not your own, you belong to Me. Decide anew that what you say, where you go, what you wear, and how you fill your time needs to bring honor to Me as your God. We need to from our spirits respond to Him as Redeemer by saying to Him:

Thank you for buying me, I am unworthy of Your love; and I belong to You so I want You to be pleased today with what I say, where I go, what I wear, and how I spend my priceless moments of life.

I am your Revealer (Isaiah 42:9).

God has spoken in this Word you hold. He leads you through His Word, comforts and keeps you with His Word, and changes you into more usefulness only by His Word. He says, “Let My Word fill your mind and life”. We need to from our spirits respond to Him as Revealer by saying to Him:

I want to get into Your Word today and spend time with You my Lord; and I want to feel your comfort; and I want to follow Your will for my life; and I want you to change me a little more to be like Jesus today than I was yesterday.

I am your Leader (Isaiah 48:17c).

God has given to us the pathway we are to follow in life (Psalm 16:11); and He alone is the guide we can safely follow. The Lord wants to guide and keep us; and often, it is much more than we want to follow and trust. We need to from our spirits respond to Him as Leader by saying to Him:

I want to follow Your Path. I will submit to You as my Leader today. And when the path gets rough, or I begin to fear, I want to reach up again and take Your Hand stretched out to me.

I am your Peace-Giver (Isaiah 48:17).

God has told us over and over that great peace belongs to all who will love and obey His Word (Psalm 119:165). He offers peace that flows like a river through every part of our lives; and He offers a cleansing wave of His grace across the beaches of our lives–so that we can walk on each new day of life with a fresh, new beginning. We need to from our spirits respond to Him as Peace-Giver by saying to Him:

I want Your peace every moment. Keep me in that perfect peace (Isaiah 26:3), and I will do my part-I will keep my mind focused on You. When I feel restless I will repent of whatever wickedness prompted that feeling, look back at You and thank you for Your river of peace, and waves of righteousness.

Eighth-Grade Boy Sent Home From School for Jesus Christ Halloween Costume

This makes me sick! Jesus is a distraction but all these satanic costumes are just fine? Just another excuse to push Jesus out of the public schools. God help us!

PARAMUS, N.J. —  Dressing up as Jesus Christ for Halloween turned out to be a problem for a northern New Jersey boy.

Alex Woinski, an eighth-grader at West Brook Middle School in Paramus, was sent home from school on Friday because of his costume.

Alex, who has shoulder-length brown hair, wore a white robe, a red sash, sandals, a fake beard and a crown of thorns.

His mother says Alex was told he could keep the costume on if he removed the beard and crown of thorns, but he declined.

Superintendent James Montesano says the district doesn’t want students wearing costumes that could be distracting.

Alex’s mother is Catholic, and his father is Jewish.

He recently celebrated his Bar Mitzvah and is studying Bible scripture, according to his mom.

  • Seeing this article about the state of PA today just made me sick.

    -Rev. Charles

  • Record Liquor Sales In Pennsylvania

    Reported by: David Belmondo

    Thursday, Aug 28, 2008 @12:14pm EST

Dispite a slow economy, sales at Pennsylvania’s state-operated liquor stores reached a record $1.77 billion dollars in fiscal year 2007-2008. That translates into more than $428 million dollars in sales tax, liquor tax and profits for the commonwealth.

The 428 million dollars in taxes and profits was transferred to the state’s General Fund to be used for public safety, education, health care and transportation.

Customers will be seeing a more streamlined operation at the state’s Wine & Spirits stores. The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board will continue to modernize its internal accounting and inventory-management systems throughout the 620 Wine and Spirit stores around the commonwealth.
